They did it in spite of...

President Franklin Roosevelt had polio and was unable to walk.
I think this one is really cool because it shows that even if you have a dissability you can still rule a country. He didn't let his dissability get in his way and he didn't let him overcome him, he overcame it.
Nelson Mandela remained the recognized leader of south african blacks despite spending more than 27 years as a political prisoner, and was elected president after his release.
It's cool how he was a prisoner and ended up as the president. He went through things that he can now apply to his presidancy and be a better president.
Albert Einstein was considered mentally dull as a youth.
He ended up being the smartest person to ever live. It's amazing how you can be seen as a dumb person and change and become the smartest.
